KADAL MOVIE REVIEW

REVIEW : VERY DISAPPOINTED MOVIE

                    This is not the best one from the phenomenal director Manirathnam. Even his past movie "Raavanan" is better then this movie. Story is good. For the first time with Jeyamohan, the novel based script taken is very good but the problem is screenplay and narration. Cast and crew was given more importance than the narration i think. Thats why the movie fails to impress at the end.

                    And while watching movie definitely a question raises in the mind that whether we are truly watching the movie of Manirathnam? because no impact of Manirathnam is seen in the movie. Such a great director who given the best films like "Nayagan, Mounaraagam, Anjali, Thalapathi, Roja, Bombay, Kannathil muthamitaal" fails this time.

                    But the good thing is cast and crew. Gowtham Karthick(son of Veteran actor Karthick)did excellent role. His cute and charming screen presence shows him that having capability to become a successful actor. Even he is very best in fight and song sequences as well.

                    Thulasi Nair(daughter of veteran actress Radha as well as sister of Ko movie actress Karthika) is good but should be better. She is just 15, but looking like 23 odd. She is more cute than karthika and sure she will act with all leading actors in the industry soon.

                   Arvind Swamy returns after a long gap should justifies his role with very good acting. Even at this age he is looking more charming and cute. Also his acting is very good as usual. He his very apt for the role of priesthood.

                  Arjun who did negative character in the movie is better in some sequences but worse in many times. Especially in second half and climax portions he makes us feel too bore through his act. His character doesn't suit him well.

                  Remaining casts did good and decent roles. Ponvannan, Lakshmi manchu, Kalairani are the few satisfies their role in the movie.

                  The real heroes of the movie make us to sit and watch it are Cinematographer Rajiv Menon and Music director A.R.Rahman.

                  Rajiv Menon did excellent job.Especially songs like "Eley Keechan, Adi-hey, Moongil-totam" are well picturised and music by A.R.Rahman is very good and they are already in chart-busters. Also he did very good BG throughout the movie.

Verdict :  

                    So finally i would say that this is not the one we expected from phenomenal director Manirathnam and if you want to see it,just go for Rajiv Menon work and A.R.Rahman's music. Else you just skip watching the movie and see whenever it shown on TV telecast.
