Thillu Mullu Movie Review

REVIEW : HUMOUROUS FRESH TREAT

        This is an unofficial remake of legendary director K.Balachander's blockbuster movie "Thillu Mullu(1981)" starring "Superstar Rajnikanth" as the lead. Director Badri who worked with Sundar.C in lot of movies directed his first movie here. He has written a very fresh script by taking only the base story line of the original movie and presented it in a very humurous way. Definately his work of re-written the script to present trend should be appreciatable. And also no character should intimate any one from the original movie. Everyone in this movie did their role on their own way including Shiva and Prakashraj.  

        The story of the movie is same as original and that should be known very well by us because we had seen it many more times. Here the characters are the difference that Shiva played the role did by Superstar Rajnikanth, Prakashraj played the role did by Thengai Srinivasan , Isha talwar played the role did by Madhavi, Kovai sarala played the role did by Sowkar Janaki and Santhanam played the guest role as like Ulaga nayagan KamalHasan from the original movie. These are the major characters of the movie and here no one should intimate the characters from the original movie. Thats the major plus for this movie

         Shiva steals the show by playing two different characters as pasupathy and gangulyraj. Throughout the movie he did the role in his own style and make the audience laugh at every scene of his presence. Definately Shiva is a kind of hero like Pandiarajan who did more of comedy track movies and became very successful. After "Tamilpadam and Kalakalappu" Shiva once again proved his talent through this movie. He justifies the role of gangulyraj as karate master by his brilliant dialog delivery. 

          Isha talwar a new face tried to act. She looks pretty in song sequences and had a very few screen sharing so, she tried to justifies her role good. Kovai sarala on the other side given a very excellent acting and proved that she is the one of the best female supporting actress in Tamil cinema next to Manorama especially in comedy movies like this. she delivered a very excellent slang of Chennai Tamil. Also Given more support to the movie through her wonderful acting. 

          Prakashraj's as usual performance came out in a good manner. He is the best choice of selecting the role did by Thengai Srinivasan from the original movie. Other cast like "Soori", "Sathyan", "poovarasu" and "Manobala" justifies their role by given their best.

          Santhanam who did camoe in the movie came at the climax portion. As usual performance of him makes more laugher inside the theatre for the last 10 minutes of the movie. other technical aspects like cinematography,editing, sound mixing are very average.

           Music by M.S.Viswanathan and YuvanShankar raja gives more support for the movie. Songs like "Thillu mullu" and "Raagangal pathinaru" are remixed again with fresh instruments. Other two songs are listenable.

PLUS :

          1.Very fresh screenplay with lot of humour that apt to the present trend.

          2.Shiva,Prakashraj,Kovaisarala's performance.

          3.No intimate of any character from the original.

          4.Santhanam's camoe appearance at the end.

MINUS :

         1. Lenghty movie, second half is boring and very slow before the climax.

         2. Songs Came out at an unneccessary situation.

         3. Not satisfied with the movie comparing to the original Thillu Mullu.

         4.Nothing is serious in the movie. It just made to laugh. But definately the impact of the original movie is missing.

 VERDICT :  

                    So finally "Thillu Mullu" is just made to make the audience happy who come for theatre to watch. This is not the best like original but worth watching movie for fresh script and humour sequences. Especially for Shiva, Prakashraj and Kovia sarala its worth watching.
